The 2012 Port Townsend Cruise is on schedule for March 31st! This comes as a big relief as we were worried about conflicting events had we needed to re-schedule and use the back-up date later in April. In 2011 we were forced to make a last-minute venue change to Jefferson County Fairgrounds due to Memorial Field being flooded, a result of last year’s La Nina Winter and long-lasting wet weather. While we appreciate Jefferson County Parks and their willingness to accommodate us, especially on such short notice, the location is really not an ideal venue for the event. This year, a second La Nina Winter forced us to consider our options and a second back-up date was reserved. La Nina held back this Winter and Memorial Field will be dry enough for the many European car enthusiasts we expect to swarm Memorial Field and all of Port Townsend.
New this year is the starting point – Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA. Pacific Raceways has graciously donated their property and staff for the Achtuning hosted charity event benefiting Northwest Harvest and we can’t thank them enough for their support. They have plenty of parking for all participants to congregate and group-up prior to the cruise and easy access to the highway should make for a problem-free start to the cruise. We’d also like to thank Achtuning for donating their funds, time, and resources every year to make this cruise a growing success! If you haven’t already, mark your calendars for Saturday, March 31st and get those unfinished projects all wrapped up, shine up that car, and we’ll see you out there!!
