Collecting Hot Wheels went full tilt this year with the release of the Porsche 964, 934.5, and 997 castings of the iconic 911. We’ve been collecting 1:64 scale die cast cars since we’ve been together (mostly looking out for VW stuff) but this year we’ve been making it a point to stop and look for them every opportunity we can get. We’ll typically pick up two – one to open for display and one to store in its original packaging, that is if we’re lucky enough to find two. Except now we can’t stop at just two. It’s become an obsession and we’re not sure how or when it’s going to stop! (edit: It did eventually… slow down a little, that is.)

The recently released 934.5 casting seen above and the different 964 options (will get their own feature later in the blog) remind us of Rauh Welt Begriff 911s, especially the wide body GT2. That’s really the biggest reason for our recent obsession.
Now if there were only a collaboration with RWB and Hot Wheels… Oh, wait!

We have this unique and rare opportunity to see, touch, and photograph a pre-released 1:64 scale Rauh Welt Begriff by Hot Wheels! Our photo will need to hold us over for now but we cannot wait to get our hands on our very own when they come out later this year and add it to our collection!
