At the end of our Pt.4 update we were very close to completing the engine swap on our VW Caddy project. With another opening in his schedule Brendon came through and spent the last two days installing the remaining parts that were needed to fire up the 2.0L ABA. Meanwhile I grabbed some gas to pour through the fuel tank and was very pleased to see clean fuel come out the other end, saving us any expense of repairing or replacing that tank! After verifying we had power to all the right components Brendon had me hop in the driver’s seat and turn the key… It fired right up!! (There are two short video clips on our Instagram page)
Up next will be rear brakes and suspension. We will also need to sort through the rest of the wiring and see what else, if anything, needs replacing or repairing and get all the lights working. Stay tuned!
