FACCLIFT

A long overdue facelift for the CC finally took place with the addition of a “Gold Coast” or more accurately “Votex” body kit, replacing the front bumper and rocker moldings (or side skirts) to mimic the model once debuted at Pebble Beach back in 2008. That was the car that sold us on the CC, eventually inspiring us to pick up our own, then working with Achtuning to make it what it is today.

We took the opportunity to clean up the front end with a new, un-pitted grille that we had painted and added new headlights, had the hood repaired from the many rock chips collected since 2010 some 170k miles ago, fixed a scratched mirror cover, and repaired the bacon fenders from when we ran those 20” wheels so long ago. We even replaced a cracked plastic trim piece along the bottom of the back window with VW’s metal replacement and had that painted. Then we paid a friend to wrap the entire front end in paint protection film with full bumper, hood and fender coverage. The fog lights still need some attention and we have a set of Morimoto XBs ready to go in there, but we’ll save that for another time.
