It’s our anniversary week and following tradition we took to the coast for a little soul cleansing. The forecasted 40mph wind gusts and rain would not deter us. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very gusts we were warned about and the rain was moving horizontally. Leaving the vehicle would only happen just long enough to curl toes into the sand and let waves wash over feet then rush back into the car to escape the sand blasting conditions.

Snapping these photos was a bit of a challenge, squinting just enough to be able to focus on the subject through the view finder in order to keep the sand out of the eyes. Forget about trying to see the LCD screen clearly with the rain and sand blowing everywhere. Need to keep the lips pursed tight too or you’ll be tasting the ocean with a bit of grit in the teeth. We about had the entire shoreline to ourselves though. That was nice.
